Are YOU getting Sativex prescribed, if not why not?

| My Doctor trains interns at kildonan medical centre.and his answer is other residents refuse to write a prescription when he`s away on business ,So that`s why i can`t get a prescription. |

The person prescribing Sativex would have to be licenced to do so as would each patient it was prescribed to. None of the consultants or local GP's were willing to take the time off work to do the training required by the Home Office to enable them to become licenced.
NB: Bud Buddies have been informed that there is NO requirement for a doctor to take time off work to train to prescribe Sativex, and therefore is no reason not to prescribe Sativex

I was refused by my GP. Also a friend of mine here in Powys has been refused even though her neurologist in Birmingham requested Sativex for her. |

Not refused so much as my surgery claimed they had no knowledge of it and would get back to me.

Dr.said it was not licensed here & she wud not rec.it anyway.

I was refused by my local GP as the trial is only for people with MS.

| MY GP signed BB forms as it relinquished her from responsibility, and stated she was aware of studies showing cannabis relieved pain. However when it came to prescribing Sativex she said it was not tested and licensed for my condition and would not be prepared to prescribe and be responsible on that basis. |

| My GP was concerned because I have never had any treatment. However after making enquiries he found out I have to have an IQ below 70 to qualify for treatment. I would like some Sativex but I can't even have any conventional treatment. |

| Yes, no doctor/ consultant or NHS trust will be liable for that person to use it, iv been trying now 9 months and my MP has written to the Home Office, and they still give the same reply. So no medical person is going to be liable, thats the reason why we cannot get sativex untill they change the way to percribe sativex, nothing is going to come of it, the person going to use sativex sould be totaly responsable for hes/her actions, and if they do miss use it they sould be punished, severly because it will look bad to the decent people who would use it properly. |

I was refused Sativex instead of 100 mg morphine by doctor and ysbyty gwynedd pain clinic
apparently it has to be obtained from canada on licence? Another consultant says it is only used by a few patients. |
